Ti may act antagonistically with Fe resulting in Ti toxicity in plants. If Ti concentration is too high, it could interfere with biological roles of Fe, resulting in Ti toxicity. Cigler et al. (2010) measured chlorophyll fluorescence of spinach plants after treatment by a combination of Fe and Ti. They found that Ti at a high level affects Fecontaining proteins in electron transport, primarily the PSI, slowing down the PSII efficiency.
